Construction Update

Mukilteo: 1st Street permanent closure

Click to EnlargeDuring the week beginning March 5th, 2007, the section of 1st Street between Park Avenue and the Mount Baker track crossing will close permanently. Last fall a formal street vacation was granted by the City of Mukilteo for this section of 1st Street in order for the Sounder commuter rail Mukilteo Station to be built. Construction is now ready to begin and the street will be closed. See the attached pdf for more details.

Edmonds Area Signals and Crossings

An Open House was held on May 18, 2005 in Edmonds to provide information about the new track and signal improvements BNSF is planning to construct and install between Seattle and Everett. During the open house, attendees viewed displays and heard staff explain where the new signals will be located, found out what has been done to minimize the visual impact of the signals, and what benefits will result from the new switches and signals.
